YOU CAN BE A PRODUCTIVITY GURU

Letter From TFS

Hey there, my productivity guru. Why are you doubting?

If you don’t believe me that you are a productivity guru, I can prove it to you but only if you read this till the end 😉

I know many of us have felt like the 24 hours of each day are never enough! That\’s only true if you don\’t know how to manage your time effectively and that definitely won’t be true after you apply all you are about to learn in this newsletter about Time Management to your daily living as a Nigerian student.

So we both know you are a scholar o but you don’t seem able to prove it in any way because of the workload you have. Here are some tips:

– First off, be realistic. Life will not always happen as you have planned. Allow flexibility for unexpected events but stay committed to your study schedule. By allowing for flexibility, you prevent your whole schedule/life/emotions from being thrown off kilter by every minor inconvenience.

– Just like balancing the perfect plate of jollof rice, find the right balance between study sessions and relaxation. Take breaks, enjoy your favourite snacks like kuli kuli, roasted corn or that meshai and recharge 😉

Also, I know burning the midnight oil has become your mantra but can you chill? Constantly reading throughout the night without giving yourself enough time to recuperate during the day will just lead you to burnout eventually. However, if you plan well and learn to navigate your timing, life won\’t be so hard. You can study smarter by doing the following:

1. Avoid last-minute cramming! Break down your study material into manageable chunks and review consistently over time. Don’t wait till the week before exams before you open your books. You\’ll retain more and stress less.

2. Don\’t underrate group study sessions with friends or classmates. Collaborative learning can help clarify tough topics and keep you motivated. You will also learn and retain more if you teach the same topic to others over and over again.

3. You need to spice up your time management game with a sprinkle of amebo. Yes, I know how it sounds but stop being so uptight and serious all the time. Join your coursemates during their hot gist sessions, if they are familiar with you, they won\’t hide updates, tips, secret tutorials etc from you because they know you are one of them. In this case, a study resource that will take other students a lot of stress to get, you can get it via proper connections.

4. You need to understand the learning method that is best for you. Don\’t see your roommate studying with music and then you decide to do the same 👀. I pity you my dear😂. You will just see that 3 hours have passed and the only thing you achieved was singing and probably learning new lyrics. Determine if you learn best through visuals, listening or practical methods, and tailor your study approach accordingly.

5. Stay mentally and physically sharp. Ensure adequate sleep, nutrition, and exercise. A healthy lifestyle supports cognitive function and enhances your ability to concentrate and retain information. Only a healthy balanced body/soul will be able to build the capacity to comprehend and assimilate.

So rather than putting in more hours and hours into your study life, use the above points to create a system that will aid an easy learning process for you, save you more time and reduce stress. You will certainly see your productivity levels spike. That way, you can work on other things like building that student brand or going after that babe you have been eyeing or that guy you are crushing on 😉 you think say I no know? Sha don\’t lose focus! 😂
